Anxiety

What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is your body’s natural response to stress or perceived danger — a survival mechanism known as the “fight, flight, or freeze” response. While occasional anxiety is normal, chronic or overwhelming anxiety can disrupt your ability to feel safe, connected, or in control.

You may experience:

  • Racing thoughts or constant worry

  • Muscle tension, fatigue, or restlessness

  • Difficulty sleeping or concentrating

  • Panic attacks or shortness of breath

  • Avoidance of situations that trigger fear

Anxiety can show up in many forms — Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic attacks, social anxiety, phobias, health anxiety, and more. Whatever form it takes, the fear often feels real, intense, and consuming.

How I Help:

I use evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, ACT, PE, DBT-PE, and mindfulness to help you:

  • Understand your anxiety triggers

  • Reframe fearful thinking

  • Learn body-based calming tools

  • Break the cycle of avoidance

  • Rebuild trust in yourself and your ability to cope

Anxiety doesn’t have to define your life — with the right support, you can feel grounded, calm, and free again.
