Suhadee Henriquez
"Your Personal Flying Psychotherapist"
Welcome aboard!
I’m Suhadee (Su) Henriquez, also known as The Flying Psychotherapist.
My journey to becoming a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW, LICSW) and a specialist in fear of flying therapy has been shaped by two passions: my love for the skies and my dedication to helping others overcome their challenges. I am licensed to practice in seven U.S. states (NY, NJ, CA, CT, MA, FL, PA) and provide consultations worldwide. I specialize in helping individuals navigate fear of flying, anxiety, panic, depression, ADHD, personality disorders, trauma, and the emotional turbulence that life often brings.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years as a flight attendant, traveling the world and connecting with people from all walks of life. During those flights, I often found myself offering emotional support to anxious passengers—whether it was calming someone during turbulence or helping them manage pre-flight jitters. Those moments of connection inspired me to pursue a career in psychotherapy, where I could provide more structured and lasting support for individuals struggling with anxiety, phobias, and life’s challenges.
As a therapist, I combine my firsthand aviation experience with evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Therapy to help clients conquer their fear of flying. I understand that aviophobia isn’t just about the act of flying—it’s often tied to deeper fears of losing control, claustrophobia, or even past traumas. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore these fears, reframe negative thoughts, and build the confidence to embrace air travel with ease.
Beyond fear of flying, I am deeply committed to promoting mental health fitness—the proactive practice of strengthening emotional resilience, cognitive flexibility, and self-awareness. Just as physical fitness keeps your body strong, mental fitness empowers you to navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence. Whether you’re preparing for your next flight or seeking tools for overall well-being, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
When I’m not working with clients, you can find me exploring new destinations (yes, I still love to fly!), practicing mindfulness, or spending time with my family. My mission is simple: to help you take control of your fears and rediscover the joy of travel and life itself. Together, we’ll chart a course toward freedom, empowerment, and peace of mind.
